TEASER TUESDAY

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading , and it happens to be my favourite meme of all time.  Anyone can play!  If you don't have a blog you can just leave your teaser in the comments!

  • Grab your current read
  • flip to a random page
  • select two sentences as "teasers"
  • try not to include SPOILERS
  • include the name of the book and the author so we can all add it to our TBR list

My teaser is from "The 13th Hour" by Richard Doetsch

"And all at once, she felt fear wash over her.

She had entered the house and had come down here instantly to confirm the robbery, her anger blinding her to the danger as she ran about in the darkness, foolishly tempting fate."

I haven't officially started this book yet, but will be cracking it open this afternoon during my youngest's nap.

Love your Teaser Lisa, and Teaser Tues is my favorite blogging moment :D Here goes mine from The Last Queen by C.W. Gortner:
"I rarely paused to mark the passage of time, but somewhere between Eleanor's birth and this pregnancy, I had shed the last traces of my adolsence... in her place stood a disarming woman--the woman I would be for the rest of my life."

Thanks for commenting! Alias Grace is my first Atwood novel, sad to say, but I love it so far. Having never read any of her other works, I asked a fellow blogger (Boston Bibliophile) what she would recommend to start with and she said most people start with The Handmaid's Tale, but her favorite is Alias Grace, so that's why I picked it. So far there have only been two times where I spaced out due to longish prose, but most of it is genius. I should have it finished in a week or so and I'll review it when I'm done.
