TEASER TUESDAY

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB over at Should Be Reading... anyone can play along!!  Please link to your own TT or if you do not have a blog, just give us your teaser in the comments!
  • Grab your current read
  • flip to a random page
  • select 2 (two) teaser sentences from anywhere on that page
  • please DO NOT include any spoilers!!!
  • Also please do not forget to tell us the name of the book and the author so we can add it to our morbidly obese TBR piles!
My Teaser this week is from Kevin Patterson's sailing memoir "The Water In Between":

" 'You were up there a long time," I heard Don say, "See any ships?"  There was a tightened quality to his voice but I did not think much about it, preoccupied as I was with the business of swallowing and breathing."

Interesting teaser. I wonder what the character did see.

Keeping your focus on breathing is hard for some. Great teaser!

I'm thinking the breathing and swallowing was probably more important at the time. Great teaser!

Yeah, swallowing and breathing would take precedence.

My teaser is here.

I like it, its serious but funny at the same time!

Becky: you are right! It is TOTALLY funny and serious. This is a memoir of Kevin after he was heartbroken and decided on a whim to sail to Tahiti, knowing nothing about boats, sailing or the sea, for that matter. Hilarity ensues. But it is also a coming-of-age of sorts, eventhough he is older. So far it is great, and I agree with you, Amy, I have always wanted to sail but so far after reading this? NOt so much! Ha! Thanks to all of you who stopped by my hoose today!!! :0)

Had to stop by and read it when I saw who the author was. That teaser has me hooked ... now off to buy the book!
