No bookmarking should be required. If your Kindle is not holding your page automatically, there's something wrong with it and you should call Amazon CS. They are extremely helpful and if there's really something wrong, they will replace your Kindle with no questions asked. I've had a Kindle for close to 2 years now and use it constantly so I know it pretty well.

Also, although it's true that you don't have page numbers, you have something called location numbers to show where you are in the book. Amazon did this because you can change the font from small to large and if they used page numbers, it wouldn't correspond with a different font size, however, the location # stays the same regardless. I use this to skip ahead sometimes, i.e. if I'm on location #1000, I will skip ahead to 2000 to see what's happening (I used to skip ahead in physical books all the time). It also helps if you know that something you were looking for was roughly halfway through the book. If the book has 6000 locations, you can go to loc 3000 and start looking there.

I agree, it's not as easy to search as in a physical book, but I've gotten used to it and I use the "search this book" function to find people's names, locations, phrases, etc.

There is a great forum for Kindle users called Kindleboards.com. They are very friendly and can answer any technical questions you have, plus there are lots of book reviews, author postings, book discussions, etc.JenMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08381388317577838604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4432990419928089943.post-23007501514659691602010-05-26T08:03:55.465-07:002010-05-26T08:03:55.465-07:00What a great teaser from the 19th Wife...I have th...What a great teaser from the 19th Wife...I have that book on my shelf but just haven't had a chance to read it yet.
